Cute Kid

CURTAIN OPENS:

Seated on his father's lap, Camden is playing a video game that involves NASCAR. As they father/son duo bond over this stimulating event, the game has a pit crew voice say to the driver, "You're qualifying." The game means that the car has gone fast enough to be entered into the next race.

Camden: What does that mean?
Nate: What does what mean?
Camden: Why are koalas fighting on the car game?
Nate: What?!
Camden: The man said, "You're koalasfighting."
Nate: (laughing to himself) No, honey he didn't say that.
He said, "QUALIFYING."
Camden: Oh...what does that mean?

CLOSE CURTAIN

My poor little four year old was so perplexed as to why koalas were fighting on the NASCAR game.

On another note, the jury is still out on whether I will ever regain my sanity but I am doing better...the straight jacket helps. Surprisingly what does kind of help me is to stop thinking of myself as "just a housewife, mom, someone who doesn't work, etc. and start approaching watching my kids, cleaning the house, doing laundry, etc as my job. If I was working for someone else would I be vegging on the couch while the children ran wild? NO. Would I eat everything in their fridge until I wanted to puke, only to lament about the pounds I gained? NO. So I need to approach my life like a job and keep myself motivated. It sounds a little lame but it's started kind of working for me.

That is so cute. I love how kids can come up with a whole phrase that sounds like a word. That is great! I'm glad you are changing your perspective and it is working for you. Maybe you should convince Nate to pay you too. Hmmmm. That would make it even better.

Nate should pay you on how much he loves his kids. That better be more than minimum wage.

Wow you are brilliant. I'm going to have to remember that tidbit of motherly epiphany-ness. I think that would be great advice to give myself in the next couple of months...
